«I learned about RSUE from my friends and decided to apply here on a commercial basis. At the university, at the beginning of my studies, the staff from the International Office was very welcoming and engaging, and because of that I was be to find my way around the university very very. Teachers are always ready to lend you a helping hand. The administrative staff is great too.
What I like most about studying at university is the method of teaching. I can meet and talk to anyone at the university without having to worry about being overlooked. People here are amazing. And I also like classes, it's always interesting. It takes quite some time to study and that’s fine because that’s what brought me to Russia. To study, to learn. However despite the academic busyness I am able to have time for my non academic activities.
Definitely, one of the things that makes RSUE special compared to other universities in Rostov and the south is that everyone is ready to help you and willingly meet me halfway: both students and the dean's office. And International Office is one of my favorite offices at the University. All the people working there are very sensitive. They talk to you as a friend and in way that lets you know that they respect you and I turn you respect them back 100%. I love those people.
And I also love Rostov, I like living here. The weather is more pleasant compared to some cities, and I feel comfortable and safe in this city, outside the university people treat me positively. Before coming to Russia I had positive expectations from the country and, fortunately, I am not disappointed. «I learned about RSUE from Facebook, through the agency promoting Russian higher education, and decided to study there because of interesting programs in the field of Economics and because of the Russian diploma, which is recognized everywhere. When I entered RSUE, the International Office staff helped me very much. They represent much more than a staff working in the office. Beyond that, they are family, parents to me.
I like to study at Rostov State University of Economics, the format of classes is captivating and interesting. What pleases me is the way that we can get close to every professor, they are kind. And when I need help with processing new information, my groupmates help me with that. There is an opportunity at the university to have free access to a computer, recreation spaces, many places for studies and work.
It is comfortable to live in RSUE’s dormitory. Of course, I would advise other foreign students to stay there but not rent a flat. It is secure and economical. For me, the location of RSUE and its dorm is convenient to get to classes.
Sometimes I combine studies with work. I work very rarely, sometimes on weekends, to compensate for the need for transport and food.
I like living in Rostov-on-Don. In the summer, my favorite place is the embankment. And I feel completely safe in this city. People here are different, but most of them are kind and friendly.
Russia is a great and large country. To move from one city to another we can spend over a day travelling. Learning the Russian language is not easy, but I do my best :) My favorite word in Russian is «thank you».

«I found out about RSUE via the Internet, and my friends suggested that this university is one of the best universities in Russia. At the beginning of my studies, wonderful people from the International Office helped to adapt and feel comfortable at the university.
I like to study at RSUE, because the curriculum is good, and teachers listen to the opinion of foreign students. Everything is excellent in studies and the University, it is always informative at classes. The Dean's office and students help to understand the material. There is enough time for studies and other stuff: leisure activities, communication, traveling. I like student life at the university, and I actively participate in it.
I like living in Rostov-on-Don because the lifestyle is not expensive, it's a great city center where everything is available and foreigners feel safe.
The most striking impression of Russia is the talents that Russia has in the economic, cultural and especially musical fields, because I love music, and there are many talented performers in Russia. I had a chance to participate in international student mobility on behalf of RSUE. This is a great way to improve English as an international language, get acquainted with international education standards and make friends from all over the world.
While studying overseas, I received a grant from the Unicredit Foundation. It was not difficult to get it given the level education RSUE provides to its students. I remember that it took me time to prepare a good motivation letter and a CV.
RSUE’s International Mobility Office (IMO) helped me a lot in organizing the trip with the search for information, filling in the data, and with passing the exams (2 exams had to be taken in Russia) after the mobility program. I rate the work of IMO staff as excellent, I trusted them completely, they are very qualified professionals.
The mobility program and studies were at the Politecnico Di Milano University in Milan. The choice of the country and university was influenced by the fact that it was the only free program in English.
Lectures at the host university were very interesting and inspiring, I learned from classmates the approach to learning and project work, which is very important for the ability to work in a team for further career. But it was quite difficult to pass the exams, because I was not familiar with the format.
It is curious that none of Italian teachers really helped to adapt, because there was a large number of people in the groups and many from different countries. In fact, I didn’t need it, I was lucky, at the first training camp I met many guys from other countries and Russia, later we helped each other.
The difference between studying overseas and in Russia is that in Milan there is project work in almost every subject, a little more dynamic and closely connected with modern realities of economics and market on the whole.
Getting a grant is real! Two people who applied in 2017 won it. You can also combine work with studies, but it is quite difficult, I had classmates who managed everything.
Student mobility is interesting and effective, but challenging)

I decided to participate in international mobility because life in another country opens up a different type of thinking, a different attitude towards people, a different view of the world. Being a student in another country makes the worldview even deeper.
I was assisted by RSUE’s International Office in organizing the trip in terms of my mobility program, established contact with the partner university, helped in the preparation of documents, and much more.
My studies took place in South Korea, Seoul, at Sunsil University. The choice of the country and the university was influenced by my professional interest, the previous education was connected with East Asia.
At the beginning of the studies it took time to get used to the environment, then I felt like the same student as the indigenous people of the country. The teachers are professionals in their field. Both Koreans and students from other countries are cheerful and helpful. The university has a large selection of disciplines and subjects, of varying complexity and significance for the chosen major.

At RSUE I liked the student life and getting new knowledge. I often communicate with many of my classmates from undergraduate and graduate programs until now.
In the course of studying at RSUE, I decided to test the maximum of my abilities and, therefore, was elated to get a grant to study abroad. The scholarship was assigned to all the winners of the grant, so the most important thing was to win. I had to collect all the necessary documents, my achievements in the portfolio and, of course, participate in all international conferences and competitions for several years to develop a competitive portfolio. As a result, I received a scholarship of 650 € per month.
I could not have coped without the support of Prof. Oleg Bodiagin and Prof. Anna Troilina. They helped me get the package of the documents ready on time, and, of course, they provided great moral support. The International Office is always open to all students. All foreign students can confidently come there for any help or advice.
My grant worked for all countries where the Unicredit bank was located. I won it with my classmate and our choice fell on Italy − the most colorful country! We studied at RSUE’s partner university − Politecnico di Milano.
Studying in Italy was aimed at obtaining practical knowledge. Many assignments in subjects entailed team execution. I have always been the only Russian speaker in the team, so I improved my communication skills a lot. Also, external lecturers came to our classes: CEOs of large companies and TED speakers, it’s great! I was already familiar with some of the material after classes at RSUE, but the university in Italy also gave me a huge amount of knowledge.
The first months were pretty hard. We worried a lot because of classes and team assignments. But over time, we joined the studying schedule, which is slightly different from the Russian one. We had a lot of help from a specialist from the International Office at Politecnico di Milano and a specialist from the bank on grant issues.
If you want to get out of your comfort zone and reach a new level, there is no better way. I am sure that I will remember for a long time and be proud of myself after such a cool experience!
We had 1000€ to cover travel expenses + a monthly scholarship. That was enough to live in Milan. Since I used to be a photographer, I deliberately took my camera and portable light with me. Milan is a very touristic city, so I published my portfolio on a travel website without hesitation. There were few orders, but with money I received I was able to come to the New Year as a surprise for everyone and bring gifts to my close people.
The difference between studying at Politecnico di Milano and studying in Russia is that
1) all tasks in a foreign university are aimed at teamwork, 2) to complete any task, the team can phone about 10 times. First, to understand what we will do. The second time is to distribute the roles, the third time is to choose the color and style of the presentation, the fourth time is to discuss the draft text, and so on, 3) students overseas take exams very seriously. Many people start preparing for the sessions 3-4 months in advance and do not leave the house anywhere, 4) exams are held in several stages, usually this is a test + oral interview.
The most valuable thing about traveling and studying overseas is experience and new opportunities.

FOUNDATIONS TO STUDY AT RSUE

• The fee-paying education involves the payment of tuition fees at RSUE according to the agreement between the student and the university.
• Admission under the quota of the Government of the Russian Federation is possible if the applicant participates in qualifying events in the country of his/her residence.
• The category “fellow Russians overseas” (hereinafter referred to as compatriots) includes a) citizens of the Russian Federation permanently residing outside the Russian Federation; b) persons who were citizens of the USSR residing in the states that were part of the USSR, acquired the citizenship of these states or became ones without citizenship; c) immigrants (emigrants) from the Russian state, the Russian Republic, the RSFSR, the USSR and the Russian Federation who had the appropriate citizenship and became citizens of a foreign state or who have a residence permit or became ones without citizenship; d) descendants of persons belonging to the above groups.
• Admission under an international agreement with the Russian Federation is regulated by the Russian Federation and the country in which you complete your studies before entering us.

1) we indicated the deadlines for accepting documents only for full-time education.

2) the deadlines for submitting documents by foreign applicants for bachelor programs are shorter
than for Russian students, because foreign applicants take university entrance examinations, and Russians enter on the basis of the results of the Unified State Examination, which they already take at school.

COST OF LIVING

Dormitory and apartment

RSUE provides students with double rooms at its comfortable dormitories. International students are given the priority right to receive places in the university dormitories.

The cost of living is about 1 000 rubles per month (about US $ 15).

If a student plans to rent a separate apartment, the cost of renting a one-room flat will be 15 000-25 000 rubles per month (US $ 200-350).

Other expenses

Rostov-on-Don is the southern capital of Russia

which continues to develop as an industrial, agrarian and financial center in the south of the country. Nevertheless, despite its capital status, the city provides comfortable, safe and affordable living conditions.

The cost of an average consumer basket per month is 12 000 rubles per month (about US $200).
🔹 Public fare transport is 29-32 rubles (about 50 cents).
🔹 The cost of mobile communications is 500-800 rubles per month (8-13 USD).
🔹 The cost of an annual medical insurance that all foreign students in Russia should have, is 4000 rubles. (about $65).

When having your studies, you do not have to depend only on money your parents will give you. In accordance with the Russian law, full-time foreign students have the right to work in their free time and no additional work permit is needed.
