Meeting with a famous foreign graduate

On March 22, 2023, the well-known foreign graduate from Zambia, Lubinda Haabazoka, Director of the Graduate School of Business of the University of Zambia, President of the Economic Association of Zambia, visited Rostov State University of Economics.

Lubinda Haabazoka entered RSUE as a scholarship holder of the Government of the Russian Federation in 2000, majoring in Finance and Credit, specializing in Banking. In 2005, he successfully completed his studies and immediately continued his postgraduate studies on a scholarship from the Government of Russia. In 2009, under the scientific supervision of the head of the Department of Banking Olga Semenyuta Mr. Haabazoka successfully defended his thesis for the title of PhD in Economics on the topic "Development of the Russian banking system in the context of globalization of the world economy".

Dr. Haabazoka, after returning home, managed to build a successful career, becoming the director of the Graduate School of Business of the University of Zambia, president of the Economic Association of Zambia, economic adviser and consultant to the Government of the Republic of Zambia and a number of international organizations.

During a tour of Lubinda University, Haabazoka noted the dynamic development of educational and extracurricular infrastructure, new classrooms, laboratories, co-working spaces, as well as new opportunities that open up for today's students at RSUE.

RSUE’s Rector Elena Makarenko and President Adam Albekov held a meeting with the famous alumnus, during which they expressed their intentions to jointly develop academic, economic and cultural ties between our countries, including at the Russia-Africa summit and economic forum.

Also on the site of the Boiling Point of RSUE Dr. Lubinda Haabazoka held a master class "My Success Story" for foreign and Russian students. Dr. Haabazoka told the students about his life in Russia, about his formation, what important knowledge and experience he received. The graduate paid special attention to how important it is to be active and involved not only in the educational, scientific, but also in the public life of the university.

Dr. Haabazoka noted the high quality of education he received at RSUE and the invaluable contribution of studying and living in Russia to the development of his career and the achievement of professional and personal goals. He also shared with the students the idea that the current economic and political situation is an excellent chance for the active development of Russian-African relations in all areas of activity. Lubinda Haabazoka expressed his deep gratitude to RSUE for the knowledge that he received in his native alma mater and assured that he would be happy to support his children if they want to study at RSUE in the future.
