RSUE became the best university in the South of Russia and formed Top-20 Russian universities in Times Higher Education Impact Rankings 2021
On April 21, 2021, Times Higher Education Impact Rankings 2021 was published. Rostov State University of Economics was ranked among the best universities in the world and became first among universities in the South of Russia (Southern and North Caucasus Federal Districts).
The Impact Rankings are published annually by the British magazine Times Higher Education in cooperation with the American media company ThomsonReuters. The ranking ranks the selected leading universities in the world according to criteria based on the targets for the development of the world community until 2030 - the UN Sustainable Development Goals (hereinafter referred to as the SDGs). This year, 1115 universities submitted their data to be ranked by ThomsonReuters. The Impact Rankings assesses the effectiveness and influence of universities as academic, scientific and social centers in terms of their progress towards achieving the key development goals of the world community until 2030 approved by the UN member states.
RSUE was ranked among the best universities in the world in terms of “Decent Work and Economic Growth”, “Gender Equality”, “Quality Education”, “Industrialization, Innovation and Infrastructure”, and “Partnership for Sustainable Development”. According to the criterion “Peace, Justice and Effective Institutions” RSUE took the 85th place in the world (according to the International Association of Universities, there are about 20 000 universities worldwide).
The orientation towards achieving key sustainable development goals actively supported by Russia is considered to be one of the priority areas of the RSUE’s development, which is reflected in the Development Strategy of Rostov State University of Economics for 2021-2025.
