Mister and Miss Africa were selected in the frame of the festival “Africa Sun on the Don” at RSUE

On May 23, 2021 Mister and Miss Africa competition was held at Rostov State University of Economics as part of the 10th International Festival "Africa Sun on the Don".
In 2009, on the initiative of RSUE’s students Sou Tierno Sadu (Guinea) and Nizhembere Richard (Burundi), the first international festival of African culture "Africa Sun on the Don" was organized, which eventually became one of the brightest cultural events in the life of foreign students and united all universities in Rostov region.
This year, the Festival dedicated to the International Day of Africa was organized jointly by Southern Federal University and RSUE and included a series of sports, educational and cultural events, Mister and Miss Africa competition and the Gala concert being its last events.
8 applicants competed for the title of Mister and Miss Africa: 4 women and 4 men, who represented Guinea, Guinea-Bissau, Cote d'Ivoire, Madagascar, Tanzania, Equatorial Guinea, South Africa. All participants of the competition demonstrated their originality, beauty, elegance, remarkable creativity, and the audience actively and emotionally supported the competitors.
According to the results of the competition, SFedU’s student from Equatorial Guinea Nguema Koba Isabel was awarded the title of Miss Africa and RSUE’s student Sanogo Kasum from Cote d'Ivoire became Mister Africa.
Note: On May 25, by the decision of the UN, the International Day of Africa is annually celebrated all over the world in honor of the First Conference of States and Governments of African Countries in Addis Ababa in 1963.
