About us
1915
Part of the students and teachers of Imperial Warsaw University were transferred to Rostov-on-Don as a result of the First World War.

1917
On the basis of the Warsaw University in Rostov-on-Don, Don University, since 1925 – North Caucasus State University, was established on the basis of Warsaw University
in Rostov-on-Don.

1940
The number of students of the Institute reached 800 people.

1970
The Institute received the first recreational sports and health camp for teachers and students «Pine Coast» built in the village of Arkhyz, Karachay-Cherkessia, in the Caucasus Mountains

2000
The expansion of the areas of studies and programs at the Academy resulted in receiving the status of a university and its current name – Rostov State University of Economics.

- • In 2017, Rostov State University of Economics was recognized by the Presidential Council for Interethnic Relations as a Russian university that applies the best practices in the socio-cultural adaptation of foreign students.
• In September 2020, according to the Davydov.Index expert network, rector of Rostov State University of Economics Elena Makarenko formed top 50 rectors of Russian universities in terms of mentions in the media and took the 23rd place in the list.
