National Scholarship Programm for the Support of Mobility of the Government of the Slovak Republic

The National Scholarship Programme for the Support of Mobility of students, PhD students, university teachers, researchers and artists supports study and research stays at universities and research organisations. It supports two-way mobility of foreign scholarship holders to Slovakia.
Scholarships cover living costs related to the scholarship stay. The Programme scholarship holders are scholarship holders of the Government of the Slovak Republic. It is financed by the Ministry of Education, Science, Research and Sport of the Slovak Republic, and administered by SAIA, n. o.

Applicants shall apply on-line at System opens not later than 6 weeks before the deadline. After submitting on-line application form (with all attachments), applicant shall deliver original of signed hard copy of application form to SAIA Bratislava before the deadline.

Call for Papers - International Conference of IABD

 The International Academy of Business Disciplines (IABD) has issued a call for papers for the 26th Annual Conference, which will take place from April 10-12 2014. The attached document will give you more information on the conference and the paper submission process. It is important to note that the submission deadline is November 1st 2013. Papers can either be submitted for the purposes of presentation at the conference only OR for presentation and publication in the Quarterly Review of Business Disciplines (QRBR). Presentation at the conference is, therefore, a prerequisite for publication in the QRBD.

2014 NextBillion Case Writing Competition

Professors, students, and student teams are invited to submit original, unpublished case studies about building and sustaining a successful social enterprise! The competition's objective is to recognize and publish the best-written case studies about an organization or company focused on creating or sustaining scalable business ventures focused on alleviating poverty, especially in the developing world.

The deadline for manuscript submission is February 28, 2014.  Manuscripts should be prepared in accordance with Journal of International Management’s Style Guide for Authors: Intending contributors relatively new to JIM may find the work of Kothari and Lahiri (2012) useful.

Call for Chapters: Advanced Series in Management  
“Shared Services as a New Organizational Form”

For this volume of the Advanced Series in Management, is seeking chapters that will increase our understanding of how Shared Services Models are evolving, using the most rigorous social scientific methods and tools.  Topics that may best fit this volume’s editorial intentions include (but are not limited to) consideration of the following questions:

  • What constitutes Shared Services?
  • What are the structural arrangements between Shared Services and the organizations?
  • Which business processes can and/or should be shared?
  • How to get best value from sharing the services, and who are the stakeholders?
  • What are the structural differences between shared services in different business processes?

As a volume in the Advanced Series in Management, this scholarly book will contribute to researcher’s understanding of the development, antecedents, processes and governance of Shared Services Models.  It may also be used as a reference in executive education programs or as a textbook in graduate (or advanced undergraduate) courses in accredited Colleges or Schools of Businesses and similarly situated educational offerings.

Chapters are expected to have between 4000 and 5000 words (excluding references, figures, and tables). Only original work whose copyright is owned (or cleared) by the chapter authors and not considered for publication elsewhere can be considered for inclusion in the ASM series.

Scholars whose work is likely to fit this call for chapters are invited to contact the editor via email to discuss their ideas and in preliminary form assess whether their contribution would be included.

BVIMR Management Edge is multidisciplinary in scope. BVIMR Management Edge invites articles for the July 2014 Issue

We call for manuscripts to reach us on or before 31st January, 2014. Manuscripts relevant to general management, marketing, finance, HR, systems, IT, Operations management are accepted. Issues pertinent to emerging changes in management are most welcome.

The manuscripts should be the original work and not published elsewhere. It could be either conceptual or application oriented. The papers will be initially reviewed by the editorial team, and if accepted would be blind refereed by an external reviewer. After the author’s acceptance and corrections of blind reviewer’s comments, the editorial will accept the paper for publication. The manuscripts could range from 3000 to 5000 words excluding tables, figures and references.

Guidelines for submitting manuscripts:

1.      Title page: Title, Author(s)’s name, Designation and Institute of affiliation, contact address, email of first author for correspondence (on page1).

2.      Abstract: An abstract of the manuscript in 150 words, followed by key words (on page2).

3.      Main page: The manuscript begins from page 3 onwards.

4.      References: All references should be in American Psychological Association (APA) style. For more information on the APA format, see

5.      All figures, graphs and tables if they are extracted from excel, a copy of the excel sheet with data sheet should also be attached along wit the word document.

6.      Format: Times New Roman font, Font size 12, Paragraph spacing0, Double line spacing, Label: 9 –point, Times New Roman, notes at the end of the manuscript/text, before the references. Any acknowledgements should be enclosed in the notes and must be numbered 1, 2, 3…

7.      If there are any graphs, graphic images, it should be in black and white with highest resolution and ownership of the same should be acknowledged in the source.

  The School of Management will launch its two year MBA program in July 2014 and is inviting open-rank full time faculty in various disciplines of Management i.e. OB, HR, Strategy, International Business and Entrepreneurship to be part of this exciting new university.  Candidates would typically possess a PhD (or equivalent) from a reputed accredited institution with proven research and teaching skills. Successful candidates will have a demonstrated ability to conduct independent research in their domain resulting in high quality publications, as well as the potential to deliver high-quality courses at the graduate level. A demonstrated track record in publishing papers in reputed international journals is necessary for senior roles. SOM will offer competitive (on PPP basis) salaries with reasonable teaching loads. Successful candidates will have the opportunity to work with Imperial College faculty on research projects, faculty exchange and development programmes in London. In addition, we will consider visiting faculty positions for a limited term or annual recurring basis to cover specific courses.   BMU is also setting up an Institute for Inclusive Innovation that is a funded research centre that adopts an interdisciplinary approach to address challenges in India and other emerging economies.

Journal of International Business Studies (JIBS) Paper Development Workshop (PDW) will be held in Bremen, Germany, from 13:00 pm to 17:00 pm on Thursday, December 12, 2013, as part of the pre-conference program for the European International Business Academy (EIBA) annual meeting.

The PDW will be organized jointly with JIBSAcademy of International Business Western Europe Chapter, and the University of Bremen as local host for the European International Business Academy (EIBA) conference.

The purpose of the PDW is to provide junior scholars with developmental feedback on their current research projects in international business studies. While we hope that many of these papers will be eventually submitted to JIBS, the purpose of the PDW is broader: to improve the quality of IB research and bring new scholars into the IB field. We invite original papers from junior authors or junior faculty members who have not previously published in JIBS.

Participation at the PDW is limited. Participants will be invited based on the quality of their submitted work.  Academy of World Business, Marketing and Management Development Conference

This 6th biennial Academy of World Business, Marketing and Management Development Conference aims to share research knowledge, theories and practice that exist in the world in the areas of business, marketing, finance, management and international business. Manuscripts for this double blind peer reviewed conference are invited in terms of competitive papers, case studies, research in progress, literature review, special sessions and doctoral research papers.

Submission can be in any of the following four categories: 1)  An abstract only paper of least 100 words but not more than one page; 2) A proposal/work in progress paper to be no longer than 5 pages; 3) A competitive full paper to be no longer than 15 pages; 4) A literature review paper to be no longer than 15 pages but needs to provide theoretical insights based on reviews of relevant literature.

There is a ‘Best Paper Award Certificate’ or ‘Commendation Award Certificate’.  Very good competitive papers will be recommended to be double blind refereed again for possible publication in a refereed book or for publication in any of the following double blind refereed journals: Journal of International Marketing and Exporting (ISSN 1324-5864); Journal of Management and World Business Research ISSN (1449- 3179); International Journal of Business and Marketing (ISSN 1448-9848); International Journal of Business, Social Sciences, Humanities and Education (ISSN 2201-3105).

This book is a part of the Advances in Religious and Cultural Studies (ARCS) book series. This series brings together a collection of scholarly publications on topics pertaining to religious beliefs, culture, population studies, and sociology. Books published within this series are ideal for professionals, theorists, researchers, and students seeking the latest research on collective human behavior in terms of religion, social structure, and cultural identity and practice.

Researchers and practitioners are invited to submit on or before November 15, 2013 a 2-3 page chapter proposal clearly explaining the mission and concerns of his or her proposed chapter. Authors of accepted proposals will be notified by January 15, 2014 about the status of their proposals and sent chapter guidelines. Full chapters are expected to be submitted by March 15, 2014. All submitted chapters will be reviewed on a double-blind review basis. Contributors are expected to serve as reviewers for at least two submissions.

In this Special Issue, we invite submissions focused on non-traditional expatriates. We define non-traditional expatriates as including the following types of arrangements (noting that this may not be an exhaustive list): Status-reversal marriages/partnerships (female expatriates) with a male ‘trailing spouse’ where the primary income is generated by the wife, Single expatriates unaccompanied by a partner or children, including split families where an assignee’s immediate family members remain in the home country or priorlocation, ‘Empty-nesters’ or semi-retired expatriates over the age of 60, Expatriate couples cohabitating outside of legal marriage, with or without accompanying children, Blended expatriate families with step-children from prior relationships subject to custodial arrangements and not sharing the same family name, Expatriate families adopting foreign children in the host-country during an assignment, Lesbian, gay, bisexual or transgender expatriate partnerships, with or without children, Single parents with or without international custody arrangements, Expatriates with special needs children, and Expatriates with multigenerational responsibilities, i.e. accompanied on assignment by elderly parents or other family members.

Submission Guidelines

We welcome quantitative, qualitative (including case studies) and conceptual papers that provide unique insights into non-traditional expatriates and non-traditional expatriation. Single-country studies are also welcome provided the focus remains on topic. Findings and/or conceptualisations should have theoretical and policy implications, and seek to inform management practice. The editors of the Special Issue will be pleased to discuss initial ideas for papers via email.

Submitted papers must be based on original material not under consideration by any other journal or publishing outlet. The editors will select up to 8 papers to be included in the special issue, but other submissions may be considered for other issues of the journal. All papers will be subject to a double-blind peer review in accordance with the journal guidelines,
