Since 2015 RSUE applied for a grant from Erasmus+ on funding a joint project “Development and Implementation of the Master’s Program «Green Logistics Management»: Advancing Trans-Eurasian Accessibility through Sustainable Logistics Management and ICT Competence»” (hereinafter LogOn-U).

The project is functioning on the basis of Partnership Agreements signed between the coordinator of the LogOn-U Hochschule Wismar, University of Applied Sciences (Germany) and 10 other partners:

  1. 1.Tallinn University of Technology (Estonia),
  2. 2.Kostanay State University (Kazakhstan),
  3. 3.Caspian Public University (Kazakhstan),
  4. 4.Rudny Industrial Insitute (Kazakhstan),
  5. 5.Linköping University (Sweden),
  6. 6.Kazan National Research Technical University (Russia),
  7. 7.Rostov State University of Economics (Russia),
  8. 8.Saint-Petersburg State Polytechnical University (Russia),
  9. 9.Industry Commercial Firm BETAR (Russia), and
  10. 10.Ministry of Education and Science of Kazakhstan (Kazakhstan).

The project on the Master’s Program «Green Logistics Management is valid from 2015 to 2018.

At the moment only 7 institutions (5 in RU and 2 in KZ) offer master’s programs in logistics management. Partner Universities in KZ and RU do not have enough experience, especially on intersection of two sciences Logistics and Management. The current competence and skills’ level and educational realities do not allow their smooth realization and do not meet a contemporary demand. It is not the lack, e.g. of financial resources or political will, but mostly the lack of specialists, educational deficits in management and coordination of transport flows that prevent partner countries from efficient implementation of transport policies and is the main reason for its very slow development.

In the 3 years of project’s functioning, partners achieved the following outcomes:

-          A logo and a website with all project related materials

-          Press releases describing project progress, presenting main project events

-          A Project Manual and a Project Management Board

-          An Internal financial management report

-          Meetings protocols: a Kick-off meeting in St. Petersburg, a Teaching staff training in Linkoping, an Approval Conference in Rostov, a Teaching staff training in Tallinn

-          Guest lectures of professors from Wismar and Tallinn

-          An inventorial and gap analysis of the relevant curriculum

-          A supply and demand analysis

-          Implementation of a broad academic and research concept “Green Economy”

-          A Concept of Master’s Program Implementation

-          International public and professional accreditation of the Master’s program

-          Enhancement of language competences of professors

-          A pool of bilateral agreements

Since autumn 2016 RSUE is actively engaged in a large-scale project − establishment of the Black Sea and Eastern Mediterranean Academic Network.

In 2016, when signing a bilateral agreement on cooperation between Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and RSUE, Adam Albekov and Rector of the Greek University Pericles Mitkas introduced a joint initiative on the academic network establishment. Invitation letters with a proposition to support the initiative were furthermore sent to other universities.

 In October 2017, RSUE organized a workshop – having become a platform for a discussion of objectives and primary plans necessary for the network establishment – in the framework of the I international “Black Sea and Caspian Sea Cooperation Forum: Safety. Stability. Growth” in Rostov-on-Don. Representatives of universities which supported the idea of the academic network establishment participated in the workshop on-site and in the form of a video conference.

14 HEIs from 9 countries (Belarus, Bulgaria, Cyprus, Greece, Jordan, Kazakhstan, Palestine, Russia and Turkey) of the region agreed on the network establishment.

The strategic goals of the Academic Network are:

  • development and realization of common research projects in a range of chosen scientific disciplines;
  • sustaining a network of communicating data-bases that exist in our institutions, as well as setting up processes of sustaining new, supranational data-bases;
  • issuing periodicals and organizing scientific workshops and conferences, as well as events that will bring together academicians and business communities of the region;
  • setting up of common under- and postgraduate curricula, whereby we should utilize the existing possibilities of distanced learning as well (beside to the common exchanges of students);
  • realization of initiatives that may bring together the youth in the region, socially, academically and also vocationally.

In spring 2018, partner universities will participate in the founding conference of the Academic Network at Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (Thessaloniki, Greece).
